The Cichlid Egg Project

Updated: July 15, 2008

An Experiment in Online Science

The Cichlid Egg Project is an attempt to gather data on the egg size of fishes of the family Cichlidae by involving aquarists in an ongoing scientific investigation. I currently have data on approximately 230 species of cichlids, split roughly between old world and new world species.

There are still many genera not represented, including some which are quite common in the hobby. Please email me if you breed cichlids and would like to help out. All I need is about 20 eggs from a spawning. It's easy to do and I really appreciate it.

Wish List

While I appreciate any contribution, eggs from any of the following would particularly make my day!
